Who We Are

A committed group of cancer survivors, care partners, healthcare professionals, designers, entrepreneurs dedicated to redesigning the cancer experience.

An independent company that partners with healthcare institutions, pharmaceutical/biotech companies, and nonprofit organizations to improve understanding of patient needs.

A force for good, redefining the cancer ecosystem with design thinking and technology, anchored in empathy and the belief that our current system is unacceptable.

Why We Exist

Redesigning the Cancer Experience

Manta Cares was born from our team's personal experiences with cancer. Samira Daswani, the founder, was diagnosed with breast cancer a week after turning 30. Our Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Douglas Blayney, a clinical oncologist for more than 45 years, has led some of the most recognized cancer organizations, including ASCO and Stanford’s Cancer Center.

Bringing together lived experiences with a strong scientific foundation, Manta Cares blends a unique combination of humanity, science, technology, and design in every tool and resource we create. We are so grateful for the opportunity to channel our own experiences and those of our community, to help others who hear those live-changing words, "You have cancer."

We’ve Been There

“In 18 months, I had 123 appointments, 14 clinicians, seven biopsies, five ER visits, two insurance plans, and 18 infusions. And I had zero tools.

Our Promise

Patients First, Always

Our healthcare system is designed for the business of medicine, rather than patients and individualized care. We are turning the cancer experience and ecosystem rightside up, putting patients first. Manta Cares is a companion for cancer patients, care partners, and care teams. We provide the research, information, and support you need to improve decisions and confidently navigate challenges.
